Week 2

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy week! On Monday we celebrated Valentines Day and we were visited by Mr. Morris Gleitzman. And on Thursday we celebrated Lantern Festival.


This week we covered the following work:


English

· Writing a friendly letter

· Looking at an envelope

· Telling a story about yourself


Reading

· Long u and Long o

· High Frequency Words – morning, found, shout, by, out, show, climb, go, home, woke, nose, whole, huge, use, tune, went, lift


Math

· Lesson 9.5 – Hands On: Activity Probability

· Lesson 9.6 – Problem Solving: Using a Picture

· Chapter Review/Test


Social Science

· Asking Why

· Count with Pictures

· Night Workers


Important Dates for this week

· Wednesday, 23 February – Sports Day practice; please ensure that your child wears closed shoes that they can run in as we will be going to the track. Please ensure that your child has a water bottle.

· Friday, 25 February – Spelling List 6 Test

· Friday, 25 February – Social Science Test

· Monday, 28 February – Peace Memorial Day, no school

· Tuesday, 1 March – Research Project due
