Week 4

Dear Parents,

I hope that you had a great Moon Festival! As a result of not having school on Wednesday, we covered a little less this week but still had a fun filled week of learning.

This week we covered the following:

English

· Lesson 8 – Which Kind of Sentence?

· Lesson 9 - Question Words

· Chapter Review

· Test

Reading

· New words: find, have, Who, tub, bump, mess, mud

· We read the following stories: A Big Hit and Pigs in a Rig

· Beginning sounds b, g, h, r

Math

· Addition Stories

· Addition – Whole and Parts

· Using Symbols to Add

· Add with zero

· Add in any order

Science

· Leaf rubbings

· Chapter review

Spelling List 5 – Test Friday

cut, nut, hut, but, gut, bug, mug, dug, mutt

Additional spelling words: adult, fins, lungs, mammals, reptiles

Dictation

· The animals found a nut when they dug in the hut.

Show and Tell

· A yellow object

· This week I will give your child a grade for the assignment.
