Week 1

Dear Parents

Our first week has come to an end and everyone is starting to settle down and is learning the routines of the classroom. The first day we spent time getting to know each other, while Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we started working on our Maths, English, Reading and Science.

Although I spend most of the day with your child, they do visit other teachers for certain subjects. Please find a list below of the subjects, they day your child attends that subject and the teacher/s who teach them. As you would have seen, I have made and sent home Homework Books for Maths and English. Please only complete the homework that I request to be completed, as this is a review of work that we have completed in class. In addition to the homework that I send home, please sit and read with your child, in English, for 15 minutes everyday.


Please note the following dates:

8 September – Science, please send 3 different leaves to school

9 September – Science, “Stems in Action”

9 September – Show and Tell

10 September – Spelling, List 2 and Dictation

Topic: A blue object

Please let your child bring a blue object to school to tell us about. Please discuss with them the following questions:

What is the object?

Why do they like the blue object?

Where did they get it from?

When do they use it or play with it?

Dictation

The thin man ran in a fun run on the pond.

The school has ordered workbooks for your child to use in class. The cost of the workbooks is 100nt. Please could you place the money in an envelope, marked with your child’s name, grade and “workbook money” to school by Friday 11 September.



Please remember that clubs start on Monday. If your child is staying for club, please fetch them at 16:00.
